There’s something about a classic black-and-white look that just works.

For this Atlanta engagement session, we photographed at The James Room, using both the sultry interiors and the surrounding outdoor Atlanta Beltline spaces to create a mix of romantic, editorial, and playful portraits.

Their wardrobe was perfect for the setting. Lauren’s white statement dress paired with Ryan’s black suit gave the entire session an elevated, timeless feel without making it feel overly formal.

Inside The James Room, the darker tones, warm lighting, leather seating, and gold details created the perfect backdrop for some of my favorite images from the session. We kept things intimate and sophisticated while still leaving room for the moments that felt completely natural to them.

And yes, we had a little fun at the bar too.

Once we stepped outside, the session took on a completely different feel. The greenery and clean architectural elements gave us a softer backdrop while keeping the same polished aesthetic.

That’s one of my favorite things about engagement sessions: creating a gallery that feels cohesive while still giving my couples plenty of variety.
